Think your Social Security Number is safe?

identity theftYeah, turns out, it’s not really all that difficult to crack. Using your state and date of birth, and a fairly limited number of attempts, your Social Security Number can be guessed better than 10% of the time. With a larger number of attempts (go distributed programming), there’s pretty much no chance you’re going to keep that secret. Good thing you’ve been careful about not handing it out.
